South Korea and the Philippines have deepened mutual understanding through various cultural and K-pop events participated by Korean and local artists for the past years. Iloilo City has also it's fair contribution to the Korean-Filipino friendship.
Korea International Culture Association is one of the groups that actively make events to make this bond with Iloilo stronger.
This year once again on the third time around, they partnered with Iloilo Kpop Organization to organize "Monochrome: Iloilo Kpop Dance Online Festival 2022."
The theme of the dance cover contest are Kpop songs about hard work, life and achieving dreams, about having a monochromatic world and doing one's best to make it colorful which is relevant to the world's situation this year when we started to go back to normal from pandemic, and people became more active again. With the support by Hon. Mayor Jerry Treñas, the event also proposes to invite foreign viewers to show Iloilo City as one of the best vacation spots in the Philippines and the world.
JDA, a club from Sungkyunkwan University, has been chosen to be this year's guest and judges.
JDA share the same aim, age and passion for dancing as the youth of Iloilo.
Judges are JDA president Huh Sunghyun, vice president Cho Seoyeon, and JDA executive deptartment officer Ko Yun Ah.
The prizes of this event are First Place: 10,000, Second Place: P8,000 and Third Place: P5,000.
Popularity Award and Best Videography are special prizes to be given receiving P3,000 each.
"Monochrome: Iloilo Kpop Online Dance Festival 2022" is presented by Korea International Culture Association in partnership with Iloilo Kpop Organization.
The event is sponsored by L&C International Education and Culture Exchange Co., Ltd, and Cheong Soo E&S, Inc.
It will be broadcasted live on December 17, Saturday, 7PM on Iloilo Kpop Organization Facebook Page.
